SIPOC Process Mapping Template – easy editable edition

A SIPOC diagram is the perfect starting point for any Lean project.

With this template, you will map out every process in a very insightful way. It can be a great starting point when looking for waste, understanding the actual customers of your (sub)process and as a trigger to figure out what they actually want.

The SIPOC process template allows you to specify 5 key elements to any process:

• SUPPLIER: who or what gives you the input you need. Is it in time, in the right way, enough?
• INPUT: what is the actual input you’re getting and is it what the process needs?
• PROCESS: what are the most important step from beginning to end, that allows you to use the input and convert it into the output.
• OUTPUT:  what is the process intended to generate? What, when and how?
• CUSTOMER: …and for who are we doing all this work? Who will take our output and what are their expectations to that output? Volume, quality, timing etc? How will they benefit from our output?

When to use the SIPOC template:

• When solving small problems on the work floor
• When solving for complaints from teams down the line in a larger process
• To identify key steps that need monitoring through Daily Management
• For getting clarity on who the customer is what he/she actually needs
